The project relies on the voluntary participation of community clubs (levels 3-9) to report their injury data. The project is now expanding to include adult men and women as well as age grade teams.
The Community Rugby Injury Surveillance and Prevention (CRISP) Project team are currently inviting teams from the following Community playing levels to take part for season 2025-26.
The CRISP project is managed by a team at the University of Bath and is funded by the RFU and the charity Podium Analytics as part of RugbySafe research. This project is how we monitor information about injuries across all levels of the community game. For example, it allows continued monitoring of injuries following the lowered tackle height introduced in July 2023. A large sample of injury data is crucial in allowing us to understand any changes in injury patterns and therefore this is the opportunity for clubs to provide the data needed to feedback this information to the rugby community.

Participating teams are asked to record over the 2025-26 season:
Pre- and early-season:
During the season:
There are various options for recording data for the Project, including the Proactive reporting system, Podium SportSmart platform, or via a standard spreadsheet or paper forms.
Participating teams will receive a report of their team’s match injuries compared with the averages for teams of a similar playing level.
